In recent years, Ha Nam has become more and more attractive by the appearance of Tam Chuc lake tourist area. This is a special eco-tourism area, invested and built at a great cost. Tam Chuc tourist area is located in Ba Sao town, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam. Approved for planning in 2006, the tourist area has a total investment of nearly 11.000 billion VND with the function of spiritual culture - eco-resort - entertainment. The tourist area has a total area of 4.000 ha, the lake area alone is over 600 ha. According to the plan, the resort will have main tourism products including lake tourism, mountaineering tourism, sports, resort tourism and entertainment. With a large area and a "terrible" infrastructure investment, this place is known as "Ha Long Bay land".

According to the plan, Tam Chuc lake national tourist area will develop 6 functional areas including the reception center, Quen Vong nature reserve and Tam Chuc lake, Tam Chuc economic center cultural area, and spa resort. Tam Chuc health care and community tourism, Kim Bang golf course and Ba Hang lake, logistics service center serving tourist area activities in Ba Sao town.
Currently, Tam Chuc lake tourist area is still under construction and is expected to be completed in 30 years. However, the tourist area has attracted a lot of tourists to visit in recent years.

Tam Chuc Lake tourist area is only about 10km from Phu Ly city, so moving here is quite convenient and easy. You can choose from many different ways of moving:
From Giap Bat bus station (Hanoi) there is bus 206 Hanoi - Phu Ly that will take visitors to Phu Ly city, Ha Nam in about 1 hour. The ticket price is quite cheap, only 35.000 VND/person/way. The frequency of the car is 15 minutes so you won't have to worry about waiting for a long time.
Currently, bus tickets from Hanoi to Ha Nam are only about 60.000 VND/trip. The car runs in the direction of Phap Van - Cau Gie highway which is very convenient, so it only takes about 1 hour for visitors to be in Phu Ly city. You can easily pick up the bus at Hanoi's bus stations.
Visitors can also choose a means of transportation that is a motorbike, the road is very easy, without worrying about getting lost. Just drive along National Highway 1A across Gie Bridge and then go straight to Ha Nam. Pay attention to obey the traffic laws for a safe, fun ride.
Tam Chuc Lake possesses a beautiful shimmering landscape that attracts anyone coming here. Especially the legend "Tien Luc Nhac, after That Tinh" is associated with the birth of the land of Ba Sao.
According to legend, it is said that, in the past, in the southwest of Huong Tich cave (Perfume Pagoda), there were 99 mountain ranges, of which 7 were located near Tam Chuc village. At that time, on each mountain, there was a big spot of light, like seven bright stars shining down on a large area day and night. Therefore, the villagers call it That Tinh Mountain and That Tinh Pagoda. After that, someone came to Seven Star Mountain to plot to destroy and take away these 7 special stars. They piled firewood into a large pile and burned for days on the mountain, causing the 4 stars to fade and then disappear, in the end only 3 stars remained. Therefore, the name That Tinh Pagoda changed to Ba Sao Pagoda. Later, the name Ba Sao town was also named based on this legend.

Tam Chuc Pagoda in Tam Chuc tourist area is an attractive spiritual place of Vietnam. The pagoda is invested and built extremely massively, with unique architecture, facing the lake. Looking from afar, the temple has a shimmering beauty that stands out in the middle of the vast river, creating a dreamy and fanciful scene. Tam Chuc Pagoda is also the largest temple in the world up to the present time.
The Jade Pagoda (also known as the Temple of Heaven) was built on the top of That Tinh mountain. This is one of the main items of the Tam Chuc pagoda complex. To visit the temple, visitors have to climb about 200 stone steps. In the temple, there are 3 Buddha statues made from imported granite from India and a Buddha statue made of rare jade.

Tam Bao Palace is the first work from the gate of Tam Chuc pagoda to enter. Electricity has an area of up to 5.100m2 and can accommodate up to 5000 people. Inside the shrine are three very large bronze Buddha statues. Each picture weighs up to 80 tons and is inlaid with golden lotus petals on the back.
At the shrine of Dharma Master Shakyamuni, there is a giant Buddha statue, the largest in Southeast Asia. The weight of the statue is up to 200 tons.
Vuon Kinh owns 99 stone pillars weighing 200 tons and 13,5m high. Each column is engraved with ancient scriptures. Visitors here can enjoy the scenery while chanting prayers, learning more about Buddhist ethics.
Tam Chuc communal house is the area of the reign of queen Dinh Duong Thi Nguyet. Legend has it that, during the war against 12 warlords the day before, Dinh Bo Linh used to come here to recruit soldiers. After winning the battle and ascending the throne, he built a temple here.
Tam Chuc lake tourist area is the pride of the people of Ha Nam as well as of the whole country of Vietnam.
