After King Le Thanh Tong, in 1729, a famous poet of the Le - Trinh dynasties, An Do lord, Vuong Trinh Cuong, when he brought his army to patrol here, drew up a blasphemy and eight owls based on the poem of King Le. Later, until the early 20th century, many poets who came here were also moved by the beautiful scenery, composing many poems.
When standing on Bai Tho mountain, visitors can see the immense scenery of Ha Long Bay. The mountain is only 200m high above sea level, to move up here will not take too much effort. People often climb the mountain early in the morning, it takes about 30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain, then return at dusk.
How to move to Bai Tho mountain:
Long Tien Pagoda located at the north foot of Bai Tho mountain is a historical relic, famous scenic spot. Built in 1941, this is the largest pagoda in Ha Long city. The pagoda has the architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty, the decorative motifs of dragons and phoenixes, flowers and leaves are all very unique.
The main hall of Long Tien pagoda worships Buddha, the left is worshiping the Tam Phu Thanh Mau, the right is worshiping the generals of the Tran Dynasty. On the top of the three gates is a statue of Amitabha Buddha, below is a steeple, on both sides are two parallel sentences.

At the west foot of Bai Tho mountain is the location of Temple of Monsignor Tran Quoc Nghien. He was the eldest son of a talented general in the war against the Nguyen army and he was Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. To commemorate his great merits, boat owners often go to the foot of the Poem mountain to build this temple.
The temple is located on a high ground with the back leaning against the mountain, facing the sea. Besides the main tourist worshiping Monsignor Tran Quoc Nghien, the temple also has two side chambers to worship the First Vuong Co and the Second Vuong Co.
